Assignment

How to apply sustainable consumption to Bogota

Bogota is the largest city in Colombia and the fourth largest city in Latin america. This fact makes it hard to apply sustainable consumption and production to the city. However this does not mean it is impossible. There are several ways people in Bogota can apply sustainable alternatives to reduce the city's impact on the global environment. These options include the formulation of laws that  limit the amount of resources a company can use when making their products if they are going to sell it in Bogota. Another alternative would be to inform the buyers what products were made with sustainable resources and which products were not.

If the local government passed a law that limited the amount of resources a person could use , then these companies would start producing sustainable products, and the increase of said products would lead to a dramatic increase in sustainable consumption. Another possibility would be to inform the public of sustainable products. The amount of said products that would be sold would be a lot larger because people would feel guiltily if they bought products which were made by damaging the environment in Bogota. These two are the best alternatives to increase sustainable consumption in Bogota.
